A Rise in Poor Vehicle Condition - 15th June 2011
New research indicates that there has been a massive rise in the number of company and grey fleet vehicles that are exhibiting dangerous and serious faults.

Research conducted by the RAC revealed that 36% of vehicles checked failed to meet standards on tyres and 20% on lights. Figures released this time last year indicated that only 15% of vehicles failed on tyre related issues and 5% on lights, this means that there has been a massive rise in defects all which put the driver and company in a dangerous position relating to the legality of the vehicle being used on the public highway.

It is believed that some of the issues have been created by the extension of the life of vehicles in the economic climate. The lesson to be learnt from this research is that companies must put in place systems to effectively manage the extended life of the vehicle in particular that of maintenance.
