DVLA Security of Data Changes - 1st June 2011

A number of new measures have been implemented by the DVLA to further protect personal information held under the Data Protection Act.

The key changes have been the introduction of a scanning system to attach a copy of each information request to the file of the individual; the other is the introduction of signature checking which will mean that if the signatures do not match, within certain parameters, with the one held on the database at DVLA the request will be rejected.

These changes have been introduced to improve the security of data at the DVLA and to ensure the validity of the license validation request but will inevitably lead to a higher rejection rate.
