Photocard Expiry Explained - 9th July 2013

As you may be aware we have started to provide a Photocard Licence Expiry Management Service to existing frm clients this is in response to the number of drivers telling us that they didn’t receive a renewal pack from DVLA. We have been asked numerous times about the consequences to driving with an expired Photocard Driving Licence.

Driving whilst the Photocard Part of the Licence has expired, contravenes the road traffic act and may incur a fine of up to £1000.00. This offence does not attract penalty points but may be considered by the insurance company to be an infringment of the law and therefore may not honour a claim made during this period.
